Street Resurfacing in El Niguel Heights, Niguel Hills & Niguel Ridge Neighborhoods
As part of the city's 5-year $30-million residential street improvement program, construction will begin on resurfacing El Niguel Heights, Niguel Hills and Niguel Ridge neighborhoods.

On September 1, the City Council awarded a $2.17 million contract to Imperial Paving Company, Inc. to repair and resurface streets in El Niguel Heights neighborhood, four streets in the Niguel Hills neighborhood, and Castle Road in the Niguel Ridge neighborhood.

Construction on the overall project will begin in September 2009 and should be completed in April 2010. Work in El Niguel neighborhood is scheduled for September through December; Niguel Hills December through February; and Castle Road March through April. Please see maps for specific streets to be repaired.

The repair and resurfacing of the streets will include the following phases of work:

• Removal and replacement of sections of roadway pavement that have failed
• Placement of an asphalt leveling course in streets with poor cross fall
• Placement of final asphalt overlay over the entire roadway section
• Replacement of roadway striping and markings

Three to 5 days prior to the start of work in a neighborhood or street, residents will receive a general notice with a description of the overall project work. At least 48 hours prior to the start of work on each phase of the project, additional notices will be provided with specific descriptions of the upcoming work, the date and time the work will be performed, and any parking and/or driving restrictions.
